M Piggy is hoeing in her corn garden, stops to wipe off the perspiration occasionally

M Piggy: Man, who’d’a thought growing corn would be such a lot of work.

goes back hoeing, Kermit walks on stage

Kermit: Hey there Miss Piggy! . . How goes the corn garden.

M Piggy: Worse than worse! . . Dumb weeds keep growing. . . .

Kermit, laughing uncontrollably: Got a joke for you Miss Piggy, you’re for sure gonna laugh your head off!

M Piggy: I am busy in my corn garden, what makes you think I want to hear your dumb jokes?

Kermit: Listen. . . You are gonna love it! . . . OK, ready? Why is a farmer like Santa Claus?

M Piggy: I for sure have no idea why a farmer is like Santa Claus, now can I go back to my work?

Kermit: Reason a farmer is like Santa Claus is . . . ready for this? . . . Farmer and Santa both go . . . “hoe hoe hoe”!
(laughs hysterically)
Get it? . . . Ho ho ho as in Santa laughs . . Hoe hoe hoe as in farmer hoes the ground. . . .
Isn’t that just the funniest joke you ever did hear?

M Piggy, not impressed: Yeh right! . . . Laugh . . . I thought I’d never start!

Stone, Sunny and Wolf come on stage

Sunny: Hey Kermit, Miss Piggy, how's things here?

M Piggy: Well the weeds are winning and Kermit’s jokes aren’t.

Stone: Well for sure weeds are a pain.

Wolf: Worse still, with the weeds in our gardens we don’t get as many vegetables as what we should.

M Piggy: Weeds can do that?

Wolf: For sure. . . See there is only so much water, and only so much nutrients in the soil.

M Piggy: Nutrients? . . What’s that?

Wolf: Nutrients are the good stuff in the soil that feeds the plants. When there are too many weeds growing the good plants in the garden can’t get enough food to produce a good crop of corn.

M Piggy: Sick, so you mean that I won’t get any corn from my corn garden ‘cause I have weeds in the garden?
