Includes segments on Moses, Aaron, Rahab, Ruth, David, Samuel, Paul, Silas, the prophets, angels and birth and resurrection of Jesus among others.

Original music, available to DramaShare members for download, see "TECHNICAL HELP"

Cast: Two main characters, Sandy Sunday and Mandy Monday, may be male or female (Mandy could be Randy)
Actors as required for individual monologs and sketches

Set: The main part of the set is the B.I.B.L.E. Machine which is equipped with flashing lights, graphics. The machine can be as hi-tech or as ordinary as you see fit, but you should have a keyboard, (which doesn’t need to be hooked up to anything, for effect only).
Paint on the following graphics:
“The B.I.B.L.E. Machine”
”Bringing Incredibly Bold Learning Experiences”
”PLEASE”
”OUTPUT”
”The Amazing Adventures of Sandy Sunday”

Props: can be as major or minor as resources permit, see individual sketches
scarves or costumes should be provided for the children

Costumes: Segment actors costumes would likely be in traditional Bible dress

Procedure: The intent is to get the children very involved in the story plots, by miming or speaking some of the action.
In individual monologue or drama sketches you will have Sandy touch the actor’s shoulder, which has the effect of freezing actors while the children work through miming the activity of the drama.
Individual churches can extend or reduce the length of these segments to fit their individual circumstances.
Where possible and appropriate have “Sandy’s Song” sung during the church service, after which the children are dismissed to go to “The Adventures of Sandy Sunday” in their classroom.

Music: “Sandy’s Song” is used to open each segment, and “The B.I.B.L.E. Machine” is used at the end of each segment.

We suggest that a CD of the songs be made up for each child, (or possibly each family), in order that children can take the songs home with them.

Segment 1: Moses Receiving the Ten Commandments

Sandy and Mandy enter, look around surprised to see anyone

Sandy: Oh hi, didn’t expect to see all you people! Hi! My name is Sandy Sunday, and this is Mandy Monday.

Mandy: Who are these people anyhow, Sandy?

Sandy: Well, Mandy, my guess is that this is a Sunday School.

Mandy: A Sunday School? You mean like a Sunday School on . . Sunday?

Sandy: Strange, but a lot of Sunday Schools do happen on Sunday, Mandy.

Mandy: Wow! So what are we gonna do if this room is busy, I mean and we were gonna work on our B.I.B.L.E. Machine and all.

Sandy: I have an idea! Would you kids like to see how the B.I.B.L.E. Machine works?

allow feedback

Mandy: OK, well we will give the B.I.B.L.E. Machine time to warm up and then we will try it out.

Sandy: While we are waiting, who can tell me about the Ten Commandments?

Mandy: I can! I can!

Sandy: Actually I was asking the children here.

Mandy: Not fair, how come I never get to answer questions?

Sandy: Fine then, what is a commandment?

Mandy: Commandments are like telling someone what they have to do.

Sandy: Wow, I am impressed, that is very good!

Mandy: Well, I do know things you know! So, okay now, ask me another question, go ahead.

Sandy: Well, who did God give the ten commandments to?

Mandy: My Mom.

Sandy: Your Mom? What did your Mom have to do with the Ten Commandments?

Mandy: My Mom is always telling me what to do.

Sandy: That is just a silly answer.

Mandy: Is not.

Sandy: Is too.

Mandy: Is not.

Sandy: Oh fine then, go ahead, tell me, what are the Ten Commandments?

Mandy: Let’s see, there’s clean up your room, do the dishes, brush your teeth, comb your hair, walk the dog, . . . . don’t tell me, there’s also . .

Sandy: You have no idea anything about the Ten Commandments do you?

Mandy: Do so!

Sandy: Do not!

Mandy: Do so!

Sandy: Look, this is just silly. All of the children here want to learn about the Ten Commandments and here you are talking about walking the dog and doing the dishes . . .

Mandy: Don’t forget the part about cleaning your room, Mom is big on clean rooms.

Sandy: Well I can tell you for sure that the Ten Commandments have nothing at all to do with your clean room. (thinks, gets an idea) I know! Let’s check out our B.I.B.L.E. system!

Mandy: The B.I.B.L.E. system? Think that the Ten Commandments are in there?

Sandy: The B.I.B.L.E. system is our super-efficient hi-tech helper that helps us track down hot news stories from the past and present.

Mandy: B.I.B.L.E.? What does B.I.B.L.E. mean?

Sandy: B.I.B.L.E. stands for Bringing Incredibly Bold Learning Experiences. So let’s get started!

Mandy: Wow! Isn’t this exciting? Boys and girls, aren’t you excited?

Sandy: Well, before we begin on this B.I.B.L.E. adventure, there are a couple of things that us B.I.B.L.E. adventurers always do. First we sing the special song. You will get to know this song really well because we will sing it every time we get together, and also we will be handing out the words and a CD that you can take home with you. For right now, see the words are on the screen here, so let’s sing along, OK?

play CD, leaders lead in singing Sandy’s Song

How am I certain
And how can I know?
I have His promise
God loves me so.
He is my Father
I am His child,
His love so amazing
So tender and mild.

Father in heaven
With me below.
Love and protect me,
Others to show,
You love all people,
Caring and kind.
Lord of creation
Be Lord of my mind.

As I am growing
Show me your will
Strengthen and keep me
Guide me until
Working for others
Your work to do
Me an example
My Saviour, of you.

Sandy: Hey, that was awesome singing!

Mandy: Sandy! Sandy!

Sandy: Yes Mandy?

Mandy: I like that song soooooooooo much, like I would like it if, could we maybe, that is I really think the children might like to sing the B.I.B.L.E. theme song again!

Sandy: Really? You think the children would want that? Would you children?

repeat Sandy’s Song

Mandy: Wow, that was awesome! I really like, that is, the children really like that song! But you said there were a couple of things we do before we get started. What is the second thing?

Sandy: Second thing we do is pray. So can everyone stand, bow your head, close your eyes and we will talk to God?
