Shop assistant is standing behind desk sorting paperwork. Merchant enters, carrying a large bag over his shoulder. He is looking at the various pearls around the showroom.

Assistant Can I help you?

Merchant Just looking. (The Merchant picks up a pearl and casts a critical eye on it. The shop assistant notices.)

Assistant (Clears their throat to get merchant’s attention) Are you a merchant by any chance?

Merchant Why yes, how did you know?

Assistant I couldn’t help but notice the way you examined that pearl. Do you have many?

Merchant Yes many pearls. (Indicates the bag)
