TESTIMONIALS Thank you so much for resending the links so that I might download the manuals we purchased. Appreciate your phone call and attentiveness to our needs. You and your team are amazing. Thanks again, Sharyn Spradlin in Ohio DramaShare is a great source for our ministry. Thanks for making it possible! Aaron Welch, Calvary Baptist, MI
The Performing Arts Group at FBCWV are so very grateful to everyone at Dramashare for the riches of information and scripts you have shared with us over these last few years. Each month I look forward to the newsletter, printing a hard copy, then making sure my techies, promotional people, stage managers and actors receive the info that would affect their ministry.
The kids loved the Case of the Kiss-Kiss Diamond script which happened to be our first dinner theatre....so much fun!! The following year we used the Love Boat script. For the ending, we made up a game and called it the "Annual Love Boat Spin-Game". The game was a combination of bingo, wheel of fortune and trivia. The audience loved it especially those that won a prize! We're actually a puppet team but just started doing drama...so we still use our puppets while the audience eat their dinner which worked out perfectly with the Love Boat script. With the Kiss-Kiss Diamond script we had a puppet detective which gave directions through out the evening and of course that puppet had a few friends that entertained our audience during dinner time. I'm not much of a script writer, so thank you for sharing your scripts!!
I am planning to do the 5 part series "the Chews Brothers" that I got off your site! That was funny. I just don't have time to reinvent the wheel...
. . . . I think that is why Seed Company has been so "successful" (if that is the word to use). We had 7 people in the beginning and so we did things that fit our strengths and didn't try to do MAJOR productions. We found scripts that fit us, etc. Then as we grew, we "branched out". I only wish I had known about DramaShare in the first year of our ministry, however, when I got the manual, it really helped us move forward and improve our skills! Thanks, John and Judi for a wonderful and USEFUL manual! Just wanted to drop a line to let you know that we performed A HANDFUL OF NAILS last week for our Easter Drama at the church. The folks keep saying it was the best play we had ever done, the message was great and I just want to say thanks!!! We lost our pastor a few months ago. Since then many of our key lay people have left. If it was'nt for your efforts we would not have had the resources to do drama for vacation bible school this year. Your sacrifice will help us reach the children of our community. I have been meaning to send this email since April 21, but it seems that there is never enough time. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your web site. I basically knew nothing about puppets and drama when I began serving our Lord in this ministry. With God in control and your help, we have produced three presentations that were enjoyed by our church family. We are in the process of sharing this ministry with other churches in the surrounding area. When help was needed you were there. May the Lord bless you and continue to use you in His service. Larry Young You offer such an all-encompassing site that has been a tremendous resource for me -- and I want to share it! The CDF, (Christian Drama Forum email list), alone a tremendous help. I love knowing that I am not alone out there. I think it is something that no creative ministry should be without! Thanks again for all you do! You are truly appreciated -- even by those of us who don't respond a lot! Dramatically His, "We've spent years trying to formulate the right mission statement for the church's drama ministry. Inreach? Outreach? Small? Humongous? Several drafts have been written, and discarded without making it to the pastor's desk. While we were trying to write the manifesto to end all manifestoes, I found the DramaShare Christian Drama Manual which covers nearly every aspect of starting and running a church drama ministry. Wow! It's all in there. All we need to do is tweak it gently for our specific needs. I wish I'd written that. Ok, maybe what I really wish is that I were organized and disciplined enough to do it." Robert J. Lee Thank you so much for all your help and the valuable resources you share. Since starting the Drama ministry at our church, your site has helped me far more than any other information I have found. You are greatly appreciated. Rene Beavers, Westover Baptist Church - Danville, VA You folks have done a marvelous job with your site with much needed information for ministry in the performing arts. I have been on the Internet since 1993 and am fairly sophisticated at referencing, research and searching. I use two different intelligence agent softwares to find sources and after several months involving two major searches, DramaShare stands out as a rich and in depth site that is unequaled on the Internet. And, your belief in sharing what God has enriched you with for others (without charge) is exemplary, being based of Christ's ministry itself. Having been in the Christian ministry for 27 years, I have encountered few who do this. I have been on your mail list for about a month and will soon introduce our new ministry in the performing arts here in western Pennsylvania. We have spent two years preparing for the launching of a Christian Performing Arts Company and Center. I just finished the content for our web site (the site is up, but has no content in it yet) and it should be posted soon. Looking forward to many enjoyable hours and learning from your ministry. In Christ, Comment from the Anastasis Theater Web Site "DramaShare. Possibly the most complete Christian Drama Resource on the Web." Dear John & Judy, Just wanted to let you know that the manuals and materials I ordered are GREAT! They are really helping, keep up the good work! We need people like you doing God's work on the Web. Larry Lane "Can I take this opportunity to commend DramaShare on its ministry to Drama groups such as mine. I am overwhelmed by the resources you have and am eager to start using them. God bless you in your continued service for God." Michael Sherratt of North East Christian Centre (NECC) - South Australia "There are two basic ways that I feel the internet has been an asset to my participation in Drama ministry. The first, and definitely most valuable one is ... drum roll, please-... Christian Drama Forum. Yes, this list is the most valuable asset the internet has to offer the Drama minister in my book The advice, ideas, and encouragement are indispensable -" "Secondly, the internet provides a very good source of scripts and ideas". Gregg D. Stonecipher of Sonlight Players, Wellington, CO regarding DramaShare's Christian-Drama-Forum eMail list I just wanted to tell you that you are truly a blessing from God and because you do what you do, God is going to prosper your lives! Thanks for the anointed scripts. Toya Johnson Dear John & Judy: It's been a few years since you've seen our group minister or since we sat down for lunch. I want to commend you on the awesome job you have done in developing the DramaShare website and the Christian Drama Forum. I have been a part of CDF for a couple of weeks now after returning from the CITA North American networking conference (where your work was highly spoken of by many CITA members). If one does a simple internet search re: "Christian Drama" the DramaShare website comes up front in many aspects, being one of the most elaborate, helpful, and informative websites on Christian drama on the entire internet. And to think it is based right here in good old Saskatoon!! Your influence has spread far & wide. Keep up the awesome work. Have a great day! Brad Mayer, LifeSavers Drama Company Faith Chapel Christian Center in Birmingham, Alabama recently completed a DramaShare seminar with approximately 80 of their Drama Ministry Team. Here's what this church has to say about their DramaShare workshop: "Thank You DramaShare. Pinnacle Productions, the Drama Ministry of Faith Chapel Christian Center in Birmingham, Alabama salutes John Alexander of DramaShare for conducting an outstanding workshop. Although we have been organized for several years, this was our very first workshop. John, together with his expertise, wisdom and extended knowledge of Christian Drama, presented an all encapsulating visual and ministerial aid. Again, thank you DramaShare and continue to give your utmost for His Highest! Your friends in Birmingham, Alabama. "Hi there. I just wanted to let you know that the topics in DramaShare College were most helpful to me and my drama team at Community Fellowship Church in Lancaster, PA. The Actors' Part I and II were great handouts to my actors to keep as resources and the Lighting Lecture was the topic of my last training session so I was most thankful for the handout. Thanks again and what a blessing you have been to my ministry". Kathy Kambic, Drama Team Coordinator regarding DramaShare's DramaCollege on-line drama training facility Just a note to say that I am glad to see that DramaShare will be helping Arlen Salte (New Creation Ministries) in one or more of his Break Forth Conferences!!!! WAHOO!!!!! I recommended you to him when he asked what drama folks he should have in his conference..... I said "you need to get DramaShare, they are the hottest thing going in America"!!!! quote unquote!!!!! He is very impressed with you folks. In case you are wondering ........ I also work with The Fellowship Ministries, which works with Arlen. Michael McCoy |
