Through my long business life I tried to find the most reliable information, seeking reliable sources and materials. When I left the business world and, (by accident it seems), moved on to a career as a Christian writer, I continued my obsession with seeking reliable reference.
When I write Christian drama based on Biblical happenings I am careful to find Biblical truth. But, as indicated in John 21:25, “Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, . . even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.” So I write drama keeping Biblical truth while exploring what might have happened “that wasn’t written down.”
Where to find reliable info on Biblical times, happenings and relationships? Internet is a major source of information but the best source of Biblical information is the Bible.
So I meet with my Bible, often many times a day. A good thing, right?
Yes, mostly.
As my Christian drama writing expanded I spent more time in the Bible. All this researching the Bible should be, and can be, a good thing. But we need to remember the Bible was written as a document through which God speaks to us, allowing us to learn of God’s plan for our salvation. Any other use for reading the Bible must, at best, be secondary.
