I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb human video

I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb human video

$15.00 (USD)

Human video (mime to music) script of Ray Boltz’ song “I Pledge Allegiance to the Lamb”
Can be performed with any number of actors.

Sample of script:

Tyrant and guards quickly move to upstage positions, watch with amusement as the Christians come on stage

Christians enter with hand on heart, miming the words of the song, end up in straight line at centerstage

NOTE: this entry lasts only approximately 40 seconds, so actors must be in place offstage and clear on where they are going

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

guards “force” the Christians to bow to the Tyrant

Tyrant is at upstage center, standing in a attitude of strength and superiority, feet spread, arms folded at chest.

Guards “throw” the Christians, (who show fear), to the floor in front of Tyrant

I have heard how Christians long ago
Were brought before a tyrant’s throne
They were told that he would spare their lives

Tyrant looks down at Christians, threateningly pointing with index finger at Christians

If they would renounce
Tyrant’s gaze and index finger moves upward

the name of Christ

Christians, one at a time, look at Tyrant, look upward, smile, take on powerful attitude, standing upright, shake heads negative

But one by one they chose to die

all Christians touch one another, smiling, move to downstage, looking upward, fall to knees

The Son of God they would not deny
Christians look at each other in wonderment and awe, smile, look upward, one will touch ear, listening

Tyrant and guards, move downstage near Christians, are looking at the Christians not able to understand what is going on.

Two Christians will approach Tyrant and guards, inviting them to look up, listen, Tyrant and guards “start to get the message”

Like a great angelic choir sings
I can almost hear their voices ring

all actors except Tyrant stand at attention, hand on heart, mime speaking the words

Tyrant stands belligerently staring at the others, frowning

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
With all my strength, with all I am
I will seek to honor His commands
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb
