New Life Resolutions

New Life Resolutions

$10.00 (USD)

making new years resolutions, committing your life to the Lord first, then other committments can follow under God’s guidance. A comedy

Sample of script:

Scene opens with four ladies (any ages) sitting around discussing their new year’s resolutions. They are obviously at a party. More people can be “silently” partying at the side to indicate a larger crowd. Be sure the “crowd” isn’t making any noise and ensure their movements are very minimal, so as not to distract from the main stage.

Fran I don’t know about the rest of you, but I am determined to lose 15 pounds this year. Then I am going to run a 10 k race!

Pat That’s not a very original new year’s resolution, Fran! You say the same thing every year – January 4th comes around and you always say, “I have too much going on in my life right now.” Now me on the other hand, I’ve always wanted to take trombone lessons – that’s my goal for the year! Then by July, I’ll play with the symphony!

Bev You both are crazy! Just keep it simple! Don’t make such outrageous goals for yourself, or you’ll only get discouraged. Just commit to start fresh!

Pat Sure, (mocking), that’s a good idea,

Bev. (turns to Fran) How boring!

(Fran nods) How about you, Jean? How are you planning on changing your life in the new year?

Jean What? (caught off guard) Uh, well, you know! Probably the usual, I guess – exercise more, uh, be kinder to animals – that kind of thing, I suppose!

(Pat, Bev and Fran all look at each other in amazement)

Pat (slowly) You mean you don’t know what you’re going to commit to in the new year? Wow! Have you got a lot of thinking to do!
