Rebuilding With Gods Help

Rebuilding With Gods Help

$10.00 (USD)

Interactive children’s activity involving the children in learning about the story of Nehemiah.

Sample of script:

Exercise: Have the children sit in a circle with all of the blocks in the middle of the circle. Explain to the children that you used to have a big, beautiful castle built here, but someone came along and didn’t like it very much, so they wrecked it! They bashed it down!

(Leader should appear upset.) Ask the children if they would mind helping you rebuild your castle. Make them know that you would like to hear their ideas of what they believe to be the best way to rebuild your castle. (Just have them explain it to you at this time, don’t have them rebuild it yet.)

Tell them that those are all great ideas of how to rebuild your castle, but you were thinking of trying some different ways of rebuilding. Assign each child a different way of rebuilding the castle:
Child A has to align his blocks in a straight row on the floor.
Child B has to pile his blocks in one tall straight tower.
Child C has to make the first letter of his name with the blocks laid out on the floor.
Child D has to stack all his blocks on top of each other like a tower with his eyes closed.
Child E has to arrange all of his blocks on the floor in a line with the pointed ends touching.
Child F has to stack his blocks in two straight towers. Etc.

Once all the children have assignments as to how to stack their blocks and rebuild your castle, have them begin.
