God provides strength through adversity and power in the darkest times
Oh, Yahweh God, please give me direction. Please give me the strength to carry on. Lord, this is not what I had envisioned for my life. These are not the plans I had made. To be widowed would be burden enough, to be left without my children, I simply cannot believe that my Lord would treat his servant so harshly.
My children. My beautiful, baby boys. Well, perhaps, hardly boys. Rather, they were grown men of strength and character. Men who daily made their old mother proud, men who diligently sought out wives filled with courage, strength and beauty. These young girls, my daughters-in-law, although born of a different race, have become so close to me, I feel as though they must have been born of my own body. But no, I give thanks to two other mothers who loved their girls enough to grant them freedom. Freedom to marry men who would take them far from their birth homes, and begin new lives, face new challenges, and dream of new adventures.
