The Servant Leader

The Servant Leader

$10.00 (USD)

a 3 part reading on being a servant, with scripture references. The Bible offers many ways we can be servants. This can be a good senior starter drama.

Sample of Script:

Reader #1: In Ephesians 4:11-13 we find: It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ might be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God, and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Reader #2: God provides many and varied gifts to the church. These gifts are meant to help His body grow both internally and also in missionary and outreach endeavor. Christ gives these gifts to His church, not haphazardly, but for a purpose, to equip the members of the church to do the work of ministry. This builds up the person who is serving, those who are being served, and the church as a whole.

Reader #3: First Samuel 3:10 says: And the Lord came and stood there, calling , “Samuel, Samuel! Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Reader #1: Every Christian, each church member, is called on to serve the Lord and other believers in some aspect of the work of ministry, building up the body of Christ. It is the goal of Christ that such servanthood through equipping, ministering and building up will go on until our complete maturity is achieved.

Reader #2: Deuteronomy 10:12 teaches us: What does the Lord, your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord, your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Reader #3: It must be a personal priority and commitment of every Christian to help other members of the body of Christ grow in faith. The church will normally grow numerically when each part of the body lives under the servanthood of Christ. More importantly, the church will grow spiritually and God will be honored.

Reader #1: In the fifth chapter of Joshua, verse 22 is written: But be very careful to keep the commandment and the law that Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave you: to love the Lord, your God, to walk in all His ways, to obey His commands, to hold fast to Him and to serve Him with all your heart and all your soul.

Reader #2: The Bible makes it clear that to be a leader is to be a servant. God ordained leaders in the church to serve the full range of God's purposes.
