Sample of script:

Narrator: Hello and thank you for joining us this beautiful evening/day. On behalf of (Youth Group Name and Church name) I want to welcome you and thank you for your support.

Tonight/today we want to take you on a journey. The journey through the life of a teenage girl named Amy. You will see her hurts, her fears, her pressures. Pressures that many teenagers like Amy face every single day. Perhaps you will see a little of yourself as we present to you “The Battle For Amy”.

Spot up on Amy frozen (center stage) holding a gun to her head. Siliean (an angel) is frozen behind her with a look of horror on her face.

(Spot out)

BANG! (Sound Effects 1 - starter pistol)

Amy: (screams) AHHHHHHHH

(Spot on-center stage)

Amy is looking in amazement at the gun in her hand which is now pointing down. Siliean had obviously moved it away from her. Amy looks around in amazement and freezes.

Siliean: (obviously shaken up- walks out from behind Amy and to the front of the stage and addresses audience) Whew…that was close. I…I almost thought I was too late. You see this is my assignment “Amy”.

Ever since Amy was a baby I have been here looking out for her. I’m Siliean (seal-lee-un) her ministering spirit…aka …guardian angel. In Hebrews 1:14 it says that “ministering spirits are sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation.” pause –

Siliean slowly walks to stage right

Siliean: This assignment has been pretty tough though. Amy is a teenager…a time when she’s supposed to be enjoying life…but as you can see Amy almost took hers tonight. (pause) And I suppose you’re probably wondering why. Well let’s just say her life hasn’t been easy. But I know God has a plan and someday Amy will be a great woman of God.

Dakrous: (Comes out of the shadows) Yeah right…blah blah blah blah blah…not if I have anything to do with it! Don’t you angels ever give up? Amy is not even yours! Hello? Any room up there? She’s ours…she’s been pegged from the beginning honey. Hey but that’s ok…you saving her life just gives me more time to play.

Siliean: You have not won this battle yet! There is still time. It is written that “The Lord knows those who are His”.

Dakrous: Oh yeah…right…sure…you never change. Suppose your going to throw out 1 Peter 5:8 (dramatically) “Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil roams around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. GRRRRRRRRR (laughs and faces audience)I’m Dakrous (dake-er-us) …and I am also assigned to Amy. Yeah I’m working my way up. After this is over with maybe I’ll be assigned to someone important. (thoughtfully) Maybe a government position. But …for some reason (looks at Siliean) this seems to be taking longer than I had anticipated. But none the less I am having fun. Amy is going to kill herself soon enough.

Siliean: Don’t speak too soon Dakrous. God has already won this battle.

Dakrous: Oh has He now? Need I remind you that Amy was just holding a gun to her head. (smirks) You never give up do you?! Hmmm…lets give our audience alittle review of Amy’s pathetic life shall we?

Dakrous grabs remote from pocket and turns toward screen. Pretends to push play. (Spot out)

Amy’s mother is sitting in a messy living room drinking alcohol and watching a talk show. Baby Amy starts crying off stage from the next room. Father comes in angry.

Father: Why don’t you shut that kid up?

Mother: (No response)
