Prayerfully Recited

Prayerfully Recited

$10.00 (USD)

Promoting the prayer group activities in your church. Have your prayers become predictable, mundane and possibly not from the heart? A comedy

Sample of script:

Actor 1 (On her knees praying, but extremely monotone, as if she has prayed this many times before.) Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for your many blessings. Thank you for my job, my family, my health and for food on the table. Thank you for providing a safe home for us. Thank you for a reliable car.

(Pauses to take a deep breath, then continues on, still extremely monotone.) Thank you for all your goodness. Now bless us today as we carry out your will for our lives.(Pauses, then begins to talk to herself.)

Well, I guess that should do it for today. I mentioned everything, I think. Oh, wait – did I thank God for my job? (Thinks.) I can’t remember. Well, better safe than sorry!

(Gets back down on her knees and begins praying again. Still extremely monotone and rehearsed.) Dear Heavenly Father. Thank you for your many blessings. Thank you for my job, my family, my health and for food on the table. Thank you for providing a safe home for us. Thank you for a reliable car. (Pauses to take a deep breath, then continues on, still extremely monotone.)

Thank you for all your goodness. Now bless us today as we carry out your will for our lives.

(Gets up, satisfied, then begins to walk away. Stops as she remembers something.) You know, I really should be thanking God for my car. It has always been quite reliable.
